During the period from 28th – 30th April 2015, members of the Helicopter service of the Republic of Srpska, participated at the “Areal Fire Fighting International Conference”, Zadar, Croatia.

The conference presented the “recent developments in the field of international cooperation in fire protection management” by representatives of the International Fire Aviation Working Group “IFWG” and Global Fire Monitoring Center “GFCM”. The participation of the HsRS team was organized by “DPPI SEE” and General sponsor of the conference was “Tangent link”.

As a general conclusion of the conference, emerged the need for establishing a single registry (database) on an international level, which would provide access to data relevant for the conduct of operations of the Areal Fire Fighting, relevant geographic – technical information like scooping areas, lakes, rivers, power lines etc. The other aspect was related to diplomatic – legally – customs, simplified procedures that States have prescribed in emergency situations, bilaterally or multilaterally, in order to provide a simpler and more efficient use of Arial Fire Fighting assets (aircrafts) for the benefit of countries in need.

Exercise of the Special Police Unit of the RS

On 23.02.2015. members of the Special Police Unit in cooperation with the Helicopter service of the Republic of Srpska have performed demonstration exercise at the Zalužani sport airfield, Banja Luka.

Demonstration exercise is a result of the training, “Taking care of traumatic injuries in tactical situations” that was realized for the members of Special Police Unit by instructors of Team for civil-military support from the US Embassy in BiH with the support of ICITAP (International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program of the US Department of Justice).

Exercise was attended by Director of the Police of RS and officials of the US Embassy in BiH.

The training was successfully completed by 12 members of the Special Police Unit, which will allow saving human lives in critical situations, where it is not possible to provide full medical care.
