Air medical transport Trebinje – Banja Luka 30.10.2024.

The Helicopter Service of the Republic of Srpska, in cooperation with the team of doctors from the University Clinical Center, successfully carried out two air medical transports yesterday. The first patient, aged 63, was transported due to an oncological diagnosis, while the second patient, aged 45, had polytrauma, a complicated femoral fracture, and respiratory failure.

With yesterday’s transports, a total of 67 air medical transports have been completed this year. The milestone of over 600 transports since the founding of the Helicopter Service, as well as more than 500 since the establishment of the Air Medical Transport Service, speaks for itself. The air medical transport team remains dedicated to providing fast and efficient medical assistance to the citizens of the Republic of Srpska.

The Helicopter Service of the Republic of Srpska carried out two emergency air medical transports in the past two days, completing its 65th air medical flight of the year.

The day before yesterday, a patient from Foča was transferred to Belgrade due to severe complications following thrombosis. Yesterday, two patients from Trebinje were transported to Banja Luka, one with postoperative complications and the other due to a heart attack.

With these transports, the Helicopter Service reaffirms its crucial role in providing emergency medical assistance and supporting the healthcare system of the Republic of Srpska.

On October 15, 2024, in the afternoon hours, members of the Helicopter Service and doctors from the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska successfully carried out an air medical transport from Nevesinje to Belgrade.

Patient M.S., born in 1955, diagnosed with Hernia diaphragmatica, was transported to the First Surgical Clinic of the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade after undergoing surgery at the General Hospital in Nevesinje, for continued treatment and further care.

Yesterday’s transport was the 63rd of this year, further proving the validity of the air medical transport system as a systematic and organized way of providing patient care within the healthcare system of the Republic of Srpska.

The Helicopter Service of the Republic of Srpska today successfully completed its 62nd air medical transport of the year, transporting a four-year-old boy, A.Š., from the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska to the Institute for Mother and Child in Belgrade. This emergency transport was necessary due to the patient’s serious health condition.

The healthcare team maintained constant communication with the doctors at the Institute, while the helicopter crew worked on the fast and safe transport. Air medical transports are crucial for enabling timely access to specialized medical care and are an efficient way to transport patients in life-threatening situations.
