Rescue Missions and Humanitarian Aid Amid Heavy Snowfall Conditions

The Helicopter Service of the Republic of Srpska continued providing assistance today to the population affected by heavy snowfall. In collaboration with a trained rescuer for helicopter winch operations from the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska, new evacuations and aid deliveries were carried out in inaccessible areas.

A particularly challenging rescue operation was conducted in the village of Kobila, Kneževo municipality, where N.M. (born in 1975) was evacuated due to severe abdominal pain and loss of control in the lower part of the body. With the assistance of the AgustaWestland 119KX helicopter, equipped with a side winch for extracting individuals from inaccessible terrain, the patient was safely transported to the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska, where he received emergency medical care.

In addition to rescue operations, the Helicopter Service delivered food and medicine packages to several affected villages. In the Banja Luka area, packages were dropped in the villages of Lusići and Pavići, as well as in the Tepić hamlet on Mount Manjača. In the Ribnik municipality, packages were delivered to the locations of Stražice and Sitnica. Special attention was given to assisting the elderly, the sick, the disabled, and visually impaired individuals who are unable to secure basic necessities for themselves.

These activities once again confirm the critical role of the Helicopter Service of the Republic of Srpska in emergency situations. Thanks to rapid response, technical capabilities, and professional cooperation with members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, aid reached those in greatest need, despite severe weather conditions and difficult terrain.

The Helicopter Service continues its humanitarian and rescue missions until all those affected receive adequate assistance.
